IMPORTANT NEWS BULLETIN:
(a potential thing to do after Bible study)

December 1st is World AIDS Day, and this year, students at the University of Winnipeg are putting on a dry social to raise both funds and awareness for HIV/AIDS. I would love it very much if you could make it to this event. All money raised is going to an HIV/AIDS charity, and you're going to have a great time helping out a good cause and hearing some great bands while you're there!
Here are the details:
Friday, Dec 1, from 8pm-12am
University of Winnipeg Duckworth Centre, 2nd floor lounge
Tickets are $10: this price is for everyone! It does not matter if you are a student, a grandma, or 8 years old! Everyone is invited, and for only $10 (which goes to HIV/AIDS charity). Tickets are available through me, through the infobooth at the U of W (main floor, near bookstore) or at the door.
We have the bands A Place Tomorrow, Elyon and (were working on) WHY. It promises to be an evening of great tunes!

Tom called this our derilect blog. He wasn't kidding. So, I'll give'r another go with posting.

Yesterday I saw a fascinating presentation about the importance of ritual in spiritual formation. Not only the importance of re-introducing ancient rituals like communion, lectio divina, awareness exama, but also of creating our own rituals. It really got me thinking how few rituals I've put into place. Even something as fundamental as "Read your Bible, pray everyday" is so hard to incorporate into my daily life. I can't imagine that I'm much different from the rest of you (or other Christians for that matter).
